My life by the numbers

A very grumpy 1/2 marathon finisher
I have been a runner since for 21 years - incredible! I love Here are some of my race results from years past. I have bittersweet memories of the MCRRC Piece of Cake 10K in 1999. It was their "birthday race" and I believe the 21st male and female finishers would win birthday cakes. I strategically placed myself 21st among the women, it was a small field and I was so confident I would win the cake. As you can see from the results, I was 22nd. I had mistakenly counted a very muscular woman as a man.  Can you believe I'm still sad I missed out on the cake instead of celebrating 8:00/mile pace in a 10K? I would love to knock that out today!
I did the Cherry Blossom 10-miler and Pittsburgh Half-Marathon this spring, and my goal pace for each was 10:00/mile. I was faster than that in the 10-miler, but lots slower in the half-marathon. At least I have something to shoot for next year.
