Villains and Heroes

Villains are always lurking in the shadows, waiting to ruin the lives of ordinary citizens. My villains wear many disguises, but they have a single goal: prevent me from tackling that next writing project. Meet the insidious crew...

Evil Dr. Dishes generates an endless arsenal of decomposing food
The Zombie Roses remain lifeless and bare but send out roots of guilt and hopelessness

The Vortex (a.k.a Towering Pile of Paperwork Doom) sucks you in and spits you out hours later, exhausted and mindless

and finally,
The Screamer! Operating decibels above the capacity of normal human ears, The Screamer makes rational thought impossible!

Luckily, I only have to weakly whisper "Help" to summon the heroic forces who join battle with those dastardly distractors.

The Runner is swift as the wind and blasts away doubt and fear. With each step, creative juices and exciting ideas explode into my brain waiting to make their way onto the page!

The Angelic Army of Adoration wraps their arms tightly around me and says, "you're really a writer? That's so cool!" The protective shield of their hugs induces a temporary amnesia and antidote to the effects of The Screamer.

The Dreamer, the most powerful of all heroes, waits quietly in the shadows and emerges unexpectedly to remind me of how even when I was a small child, I loved the written word. She brings to life memories of favorite authors, gut-wrenching poetry, irreverent humor and dream-inducing fiction. She vanquishes all villains and urges me on to make my dream, and hers, come true.
