My children are experts at teaching me to enjoy the moment. It's one of their toughest jobs as kids. They try to remind me to ignore the laundry or dishes or other chores that are waiting. They promise that we'll all do the laundry later so we can play hide-n-seek now. They tell me to come outside for a walk now before it gets dark. Draw this beautiful picture with me, one will say. Tell me my favorite story again, another will beg, snuggling up under my arm.
I remind them to hurry up and get things done on time. They remind me to slow down and take my time. What would we do without each other?
