If I only knew then... |
I'm not quite at legendary status but in the past two years I've learned a tremendous amount of new things. In one week, I celebrate my two year anniversary of claiming my dream of writing as a living and adopting a new perspective on life: try it.
Things I didn't know two years ago:
Writing- How to sell a book on Amazon. Now I have three for sale.
- That I can write 50,000 words in a month
- What phonemes are
Parenting
- How to give a 5 year old a mohawk
- That I could coach a youth soccer team
- How to explain death to children
Hobbies
- That I like beer when it's a Russe
- That I like knitting a little
- How to make kale chips without burning them
Fitness
- That I can do push-ups
- What 'drops' are in a bike
- That swim caps don't keep your hair dry
Things I hope to learn in the next two years:
Writing- How to write really, really great queries
- When to push past easy and write what's really hard
Parenting
- When to let my kids fail
- Better modeling of forgiveness and patience
Hobbies
- How to camp with kids & not lose my mind
- A little more about archery
Fitness
- How to train with a heart monitor
- To be really comfortable on my bike
What have you learned in the past two years? What do want to learn in the next two?
