Ask My Kids - January 2014

Ask My Kids

Kids have such a refreshing perspective on life. A few days ago, my middle son said, "You know what we should do, Mom? Stop calling them Christmas lights, just call them lights. Take down only the snowflakes and icicles, because those are really winter designs, and just leave the lights up year-round. They are so beautiful."

What a great idea. It's less work for me and a great way to prolong the enjoyment.

Parents are always telling their kids what they need to do, what they should do, what they have to do. But I love hearing what kids think. And not just my kids, all kids have ideas. We grown-ups could listen a little more. So if you have a problem, need advice, or want some help, just Ask My Kids!

Below is this month's Facebook post offering my kids' advice to any and all takers. My favorite question was from a friend who asked the boys if she should attend Happy Hour or go home and get in her pajamas, and both my older boys voted for Happy Hour! Carpe Diem, people!
