On January 1, I decided to try a running streak. How many days could I go running a minimum of one mile a day?
On April 10, I hit 100 days.
I haven't ever done a running streak before. I like the idea of a streak though. I like the idea that even running one mile counts toward a goal. It's a low bar that gives me a happy feeling.
A daily streak is also stressful, because I can't catch up if you miss a day. And I can't work ahead. I can't run two miles in one day and take off the next. That's not how it works. I used to be able to do that when I focused on weekly mileage.
This is different. It's a challenge.
A daily streak forces you to practice something every day. Whether it's eating healthy or quitting a bad habit or putting on your running shoes and jogging 5,280 feet even when you don't feel like it.
Have you ever worked on a daily streak for anything? How long did it last?
